A frequently asked question:
5. Is there anything noteworthy about HIH II?
There is a 14th century illuminated manuscript I have hung above the
sidebar in the dining room. The manuscript was a gift from a very good Augustinian priest
and friend, Fr. John Hagen, OSA, and contains the "Prayer of Blessing
of the Table" ("Oculi
omina in te sperant Domine" ["The eyes of all hope in You, O Lord]) for the 14th Sunday after Pentecost.
Also noteworthy is the flora that bedecks the patio (dubbed "Les
Jardins de HIH II"). During the months of April, May, and June,
the day lilies and hydrangeas bloom; during the months of June, July, and
August, the crepe myrtles bloom. What a great place to relax and read a book, to enjoy a meal with good friends,
or to watch the hummingbirds battle it out for the sugar water!
