Course Objectives
:
  1. To explore divergent definitions of truth, philosophy, and education.
  2. To explicate the ancient/classical, enlightenment/modern, contemporary/post-modern philosophical systems.
  3. To apply the ancient/classical, enlightenment/modern, contemporary/post-modern philosophical systems to educational issues, especially the purpose of schooling and the role and function of the teacher.
  4. To critique the ancient/classical, enlightenment/modern, contemporary/post-modern philosophical systems as they describe the purpose of schooling and the role and function of the teacher. 
  5. To formulate one’s provisional educational philosophy conversant with the requirements of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th edition).
